COVID-19 and Online Education in Iran’s Universities of Medical Sciences: A Narrative Review

Context: With the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic and rapid growth online education, Iranian universities medical sciences began to hold classes for students. Accordingly, present study aimed examine different aspects education in during pandemic. Methods: This narrative review was studies on Iran’s sciences. To this end, PubMed Sciencedirect databases as well Google Scholar scientific search engine were searched April 20, 2021 using following keywords: ‘online education,’ ‘virtual learning,’ ‘e-learning,’ ‘COVID-19,’ ‘Iran’. Results: The findings revealed Navid, Adobe Connect, SkyRoom platforms most popular teaching tools main challenges students’ non-equal accessibility appropriate hardware, software, communication tools, students professors’ insufficient knowledge unfamiliarity with information technology e-learning, lack proper interactions between professors students, a suitable platform practical clinical training internships.
